Back from Wortelgat!
I'm back from a really great weekend of fellowship with other Christians meeting together around the Word of God. The weather came good for us and we had sunshine yesterday and this morning - I even swam in the sea - without a wetsuit! (for those who live in Cape Town you'll understand!). The fellowship and food was great, and above all we were truly blessed to sit under the teaching of God's Word as we thought through what the Bible sees 'Church' as.
A friend of mine, Shane Marques, who is currently a student at George Whitfield College, took us through a biblical theological panoramic view of what it means to be church. He covered it in three talks. The first talk was a basic biblical theology of church, the second dealt with church and the concept of worship, also from a biblical theological point of view, and the third talk which was an overview of Ephesians dealt with God's plan for his church.
It was really great to see a committed group of young adults serious about God's Word and serious about being God's church in a world that is desperate need of the saving Gospel message of Jesus Christ.
